I was in Torrance for a business trip and drove by this house, it is not well kept like the picture above. The landscape is a mess and there is junk ornaments and signs in the yard. The lawn is overcome by weeds and there was a tent pitched in the driveway. Not what I was expecting. Very unfortunate it has been neglected.

This is a note to the anonymous person complaining about how the Zamperini house has been neglected.

Perhaps consider that the owners are elderly and not well. Next time you’re in town perhaps you can give them a hand with their yardwork rather than make rude comments on the Internet as if they were some well-funded museum and not working class individuals just trying to get by.

I had the honor of renting a room from Don and Bonniw for a year. Don was 75 at the time and Bonnie upper 60’s i be;lieve. they kept the place up more than any one of that age. Yes I saw some branches in the yard at times but the place was covered with large treen which I loved. The first thing I told Don when I went to the door was “Who built this porch, he smiled and said I did, I copied all the previous planks that were too old to use and he rebuilt the porch, in fact the entire home, in his 70’s. For those who don’t like how it looks on a daily basis, go out in your own yard in your 70’s and then say that..
I lived in that front Bedroom on the left, the living room is on the right. My room was the room that Zamporini,s sisters grew jup in, the other room had the 2 boys. The master bedroom was in the back. At 75, Don was making Beautiful home cabinets for people, beautiful dove tail joints, all perfect. I’m guessing Don is about 80 now.
God Bless you both Don and Bonnie, I hope to see you again someday soon.
