I thought it was too good to be true and I suspected it was all to get votes from our dear Mayor.

Does anybody on here realize this program was started under Scotto? Blaming the current mayor is just dump partisan BS.

So does it not seem strange that the ticketing was stopped prior to an election….. seems like typical politicians looking to get more votes….

It was recommended by one of the council members who wasn’t even on the ballot, and who is not an ally of the two council members who were on the ballot. Gotta look into it a lot more to see what it seems like. I doubt highly that Michael Griffiths suggested it to aide Furey, Goodrich and Weideman. Nor did it have any affect on the election. Furey beat Brewer again. Goodrich came in 1st again. And Weideman did not perform well due to a severely limited campaign.

And so if it wasn’t …then why not forever stop the ticketing of cars….. Again after the election they want to start it back up…. points to someone benefiting from stopping the enforcement….. I don’t trust ANY govt including our city…deals are made from strange bedfellows

Interesting facts. BUT maybe the same amount of cars parked on ‘no parking’ days during the limited ticketing as there were during ticketing days. That would mean the same amount of curb-feet were getting swept and averaging the same tonnage. How much tonnage has been missed because of cars? I like the idea of the streets getting swept. I also understand the problems it causes citizens who need to park on the streets. Maybe the streets that have 24/7 ‘No Parking’ could be modified to exclude the time period when sweeping is performed? This makes sense if the City Council really wasn’t ticketing just to make money but installed this program to improve the environment.
I would have liked the knowledge of the limiting of ticketing before the election to have been made public before the election.
